Circulation Motor / Pump (3,000 series)
Remove ground wire from motor. Remove
the Molex connector. There are now two
ways to remove the motor/pump assembly.
(1) disengage the motor/pump from the
pump housing by grasping the motor and
turning it counter clockwise a tad so that the
locking tab can be lifted up, then twist the
motor clockwise to remove from the pump
housing. (2) Remove the hose clamp (not
reusable) which connects the pump to the
water diverter valve assembly (or if no
diverter the blank housing) then pull the
whole unit from the heating element (it is a
pressure fit, no clamp)
