NOTE: Steps 1-8 in the preceding sub-section must

precede this procedure.

9.  Install two alignment pins and place the clutch cover

gasket into position. Install the clutch cover.

10. Tighten the clutch cover cap screws to 8 ft-lb.

11. Install the air intake plate. Apply red Loctite #271 to

the threads of the three Phillips-head cap screws;

then install and tighten securely.

12. Place the driven pulley assembly into position and

secure with the nut (threads coated with red Loctite

#271). Tighten to 85 ft-lb. Use the Spanner Wrench

to hold the clutch assembly in place.

13. Slide the fixed drive face assembly onto the centrifu-

gal clutch housing shaft.

14. Spread the faces of the driven pulley by threading a

V-belt cover cap screw into the fixed driven face and

tightening until the faces open sufficiently to allow

the V-belt to drop into the pulley approximately 3/4

in.

NOTE: The arrows on the V-belt should point in

direction of engine rotation.

15. Making sure the movable drive face rollers are in

position, pinch the V-belt together near its center and

slide the spacer and movable drive face onto the

shaft.
