If the holder for the
eyecup is removed, a
reduced waterproofness
is to be assumed.
1. Push the metal clamp up to the stop at the front
of your helmet. If a Shroud is available, it can
only be used in front of the left eye.
2. Connect the helmet holder with the two screws
(ISO 7380 M3×8, SW2) with the metal clamp.
However, do not tighten them firmly yet.
3. Screw the adapter plate to the TILO using the
three self-tapping screws. This is possible in two
positions, which allow different distances between
the eyes (e.g. with / without safety glasses).
4. Plug the TILO into the helmet holder until it clicks
into place.
5. Move the helmet holder on the helmet and
turn the TILO until you have found the optimal
position.
6. Screw the helmet holder firmly to the metal
clamp, so that this no longer can slip.
Accessories
For the TILO, the range of accessories is constantly
being expanded. There are now various third-party
suppliers of accessories. We will be pleased to
inform you about the latest components.
Helmet adapter (for tactical helmets)
The helmet adapter has been specially developed for
tactical ballistic protection helmets. These are much
thicker than regular helmets. With the helmet adapter
the TILO can be installed next to the Ops-Core-
Shroud. This enables you to use the night vision unit
together with the TILO.
For mounting on thinner helmets please use the
matching spacer with the order number: 382022

Eyecup
The eyecup is certainly the most useful accessory for
users who use the device tactically or for hunting.
Even the simple eyecup prevents the leakage of
stray light when the TILO is used as monocular. This
means that the user remains unseen for wildlife and
humans even in the dark.
The eyecup is simply attached to the receptacle.
Another positive side effect of the eyepiece is that it
provides additional protection against the scratching
of the eyepiece lens.
External power supply
The external power supply can be mounted e.g. on
the back of a helmet. The operating time in thermal
imaging mode thus rises up to 28 h. IP65 waterpro-
of when closed, but not waterproof when charging
the TILO. Charges from any USB charger.
Shutter Eyecup
The shutter eyepiece is attached like the normal
eyecup but is equipped with a mechanism which
causes an automatic closure of the eyepiece when
the TILO is removed or folded up. As a result,
leakage of scattered light is prevented even more
reliably. However, the shutter eyecup is significantly
longer and less comfortable to wear.
Headband
A headband can also be used instead of the helmet
adapter. Since this can be moved freely on the head
adjustments are much easier.
Battery case
With the extended battery compartment, the thermal
imaging operating time (TILO-3Z+™) is increased to
over 7 hours by two CR123 batteries, or a recharge-
able battery can be used, which is then sufficient for
approx. 6:30 hours.
