RS-232 commands not being
sent or received through the
RS-232 port.
This is the result of improper wiring or settings within the Axcess Central
Controller. Verify the wiring by referring to the
DB9 data communication
connector for a PC,
page 10, of this manual.
Verify the baud rate is being sent at least at the startup of the Axcess program
and the system has been reset after the AXB-TMC/TMX+ was installed and
operational. Verify that the baud rate and other information is set properly for
the device connected to the AXB-TMC/TMX+.
AXlink LED stays on.
This is a bad AXB-TMC/TMX+ device or bad wiring within the AXlink cable. To
quickly verify the wiring, install a working AXB-TMC/TMX+ in place of the sus-
pect device. If the working AXB-TMC/TMX+ functions in this location, then
contact AMX to return the failed unit. If the working AXB-TMC/TMX+ does not
function, then the problem is in the wiring. Starting at the unit's terminating
point, trace the wiring back towards the appropriate Axcess master. Verify
connections are installed properly and that there are not any open connections
within the wire itself.
Front panel LEDs stay on.
This is faulty wiring, faulty AXB-TMC/TMX+ (as detailed in The AXlink LED is
on solid). This also may be the result of loss of firmware within the device itself.
Connect the questionable AXB-TMC/TMX+ to a working AXlink leg, then
attempt to install the firmware using SOFTROM. If this is not successful and
you are unable to correct the problem, contact AMX to return the faulty device.
All front panel LEDs blink.
All front panel LEDs blinking indicates a bad AXB-TMC/TMX+ and the unit
should be replaced.
IR in LED blinks unexpectedly
when no IR is present.
If the IR in LED blinks unexpectedly, when no IR is present, issue the "'SFOF'"
Send_Command to make sure that it is not indicating RS-232 activity. Refer to
the
System Send_Commands
, page 21, of this manual.
