AXB-TMC-TMX+ Television Managers
Troubleshooting
The following table lists possible troubles and recommended resolutions for the
AXB-TMC/TMX+.
Troubleshooting Guide
Problem
Resolution
AXB-TMC/TMX+ does not
output any IR codes.
Using IRLIB, verify the IR codes have been loaded into the AXB-TMC/TMX+. If
the codes are loaded, verify they are loaded per the standard IR Functions
Map in this manual. If the AXB-TMC/TMX+ does not have codes loaded, or the
loaded codes do not appear to be correct, reload the proper codes. Refer to the
IRLIB Infrared Library Management Program
instruction manual for additional
information.
IR In LED lights, but the
AXB-TMC/TMX+ is not con-
trolling any source.
Verify that the Axcess Master Controller is receiving pushes over the AXlink
network by entering the following command from Axcess Terminal Mode using
a computer to connect to the Master's programming port.
>SHOW INPUT ON
Press and release any button on an IR hand-held remote. If the Master
Controller receives the push, it will respond with the following messages.
>PUSH[AXBTMX,BUTTON]
>RELEASE[AXBTMX,BUTTON]
Where BUTTON refers to the channel of the button pressed.
If the Master Controller does not respond with this message, then either the
AXB-TMC/TMX+ is faulty, a duplicate device is connected to the AXlink net-
work, the hand-held remote is set to output channels below 128, or the AXlink
wiring is not installed correctly.
After completing this test, turn off the messaging by entering the following com-
mand.
>SHOW INPUT OFF
External IR sensor does not
send pushes to Axcess.
This is caused by improper wiring to the sensor or improper setting of the
Auxiliary DIP switch on the AXB-TMC/TMX+. Verify proper wiring by referring
to the
IRX-SM or IRX-UM receiver connectors
subsection in this manual.
Verify that the sensor is connected properly to the external receiver port on the
AXB-TMC/TMX+. Verify the Auxiliary DIP switch position 8 is set correctly for
455 kHz operation. Refer to the
Auxiliary DIP switch
, on page 3, for more
information.
AXB-TMC/TMX+ toggles the
TV/projector on and off.
The PTOF timing parameter must be adjusted. Adjust the PTOF parameter by
entering the following using the terminal mode:
> CHANGE PTOF 50 71
The following response will be received from the Master Controller:
> Change PTOF to 50, First TM=71, Last TM=71
where 50 is the length in tenths of seconds (5.0 seconds) and 71 is the device
number.
When using this command and the other change commands, you cannot back-
space while entering the message. You may also need to type 'MESSAGES
ON' before entering the above command to get the positive response. If you
enter 'MESSAGES ON', you must always enter 'MESSAGES OFF' after
completing your testing, to ensure optimum performance.
On some projectors, the power sensor may need to be placed in the projector
through an easy access door. In these cases, the projector's power supply or
fans may be a good indicator of the projector's power state.
