9.6.1.8.2 Transient Test
From the MIL704 DC MENU scroll to the TRANSIENT DC entry using the up and down cursor
keys. Press the ENTER key to select the TRANSIENT screen. The screen will appear as
shown in Figure 9-40.

The Transient Test has the following tests:
1
HIGH VOLTAGE
2
LOW VOLTAGE
HIGH VOLTAGE
This test will change the output voltage for the selected phase in the following sequence:
1. 28V System
•
50V for 12.5 msec.
•
Linearly reduce to29V in 70msec.
•
Stay at 29V for 92.5msec before returning to 28V.
2. 270V System
•
330V for 20 msec.
•
Linearly reduce to280V in 20msec.
•
Stay at 280V for 135msec before returning to 270V.
Prior to the test, a range change may take place if the power source is set for the low voltage
range.
The
←
key (backspace) will terminate the test at any time.
Note: A range change will result in momentary loss of power to the EUT. If this is not
acceptable, the power source must be left in high range at all times.
LOW VOLTAGE
This test will change the output voltage for the selected phase in the following sequence:
1. 28V System
•
18V for 15 msec.
•
Linearly increase to 22V in 85msec.
•
Stay at 22V for 75msec before returning to 28V.
