For the telegram to be encrypted, the encryption-mode and the number of encrypted
blocks must be specified in the configuration word. Thereby the telegram to be
transmitted to the module changes as follows:
0x1E 0x44
0xA2 0x05 0x78 0x56 0x34 0x12 0x00 0x03
0x7A 0x35 0x00
0x10 0x05
0x2F 0x2F 0x00 0x7C 0x08 0x54 0x53 0x45 0x54 0x20 0x43 0x4E 0x45 0x2F 0x2F
0x2F
The module encrypts a 128 bit block and sends the following telegram:
0x1E 0x44
0xA2 0x05 0x78 0x56 0x34 0x12 0x00 0x03
0x7A 0x35 0x00 0x10 0x05 0x1E
0x34 0xC7 0x7C 0xFE 0x6C 0x59 0xB1 0x54 0xB6 0x63 0x29 0x7F 0xE6 0xC3 0xF7
Should the module receive such an encrypted telegram it is decrypted and the output via
the user interface looks as follows:
0x1E 0x44
0xA2 0x05 0x78 0x56 0x34 0x12 0x00 0x03
0x7A 0x35 0x00

If instead of an OMS application layers (CI-fields: 0x5A, 0x5B, 0x60, 0x61, 0x64, 0x65 , 0x6C,
0x6D, 0x6E, 0x6F, 0x72, 0x74, 0x75, 0x7A, 0x7C, 0x7D, 0x7E, 0x7F, 0x80, 0x8A, 0x8B) an
extended link layer (CI-field: 0x8D) is used, then the
„ENC-field“ within the “SN-field“ has to be
set to 001b in order for the module to encrypt the telegram.
11 Toggling the Operating Mode via Pin
To activate this functionality the parameter
has to be set to 0x0F
Besides the toggling by command CMD_SET_MODE_REQ the wM-Bus mode of operation may
also be configured via the pins MOD_SELx. The respective settings may be found in Table 20
“0” represents a low level (GND) and “1” represents a high level (VCC).
