Instruction manual 91/104 V9.2
Commissioning
1.
PB: Sinusoidal signal of the channel B centred to RB channel that must be between 100 mV and 560 mV
pp
measured
compared to RB.
2. RB: Channel B constant reference; it’s a voltage of about 2.5V.
3. Z channel (optional):
1.
PZ: Impulsive signal indicating the passage on the transductor’s ZERO position, which must be between 160 mV and
1200 mV
pp
measured compared to RZ.
2. RZ: Constant reference of the Z channel; it’s a voltage of about 2.5V.
The number of sinusoids/revolution obtained on PA and PB wires depend on the resolution of the transducer and is an indispensable
plate data.
An example of the PA channel with
reference to the RA channel (which
is theoretically located in the cent-
ral position of the figure) is shown
here.
Considering that the RA signal can
be between 0 and 5Vcc (usually
2,5Vcc), the PA signal must be
centered on RA and have a max
-
imum range of 560mVpp compared
to RA (i.e. PA measured relative to
RA can range from + 280 mV to -
280 mV at most).
The same values shall be respected
for PB and RB.
The accuracy of the voltage range
for PZ and RZ (if any) is less im-
portant than other signals, because
it is only a zero position reset pulse.
NOTE:
You can adjust the amplitude of the signals provided by the phonic wheel by adjusting the mechanical position of the pick-
up inside the transducer, but in any case it is not an easy job and that guarantees constancy over time. In case of calibration prob -
lems it is recommended to replace it with a classic TTL Line driver encoder that is more reliable and safer over time.
5.5.4 Card EnDat 01/327
This card makes it possible to connect an EnDat encoder to the X14 connector and to use it to control the motor.
Encoders compatible with this card must have the following features:
•
Interface
: EnDat 2.1 or EnDat 2.2.
•
Ordering abbreviation
: EnDat01 or EnDat02 (with incremental 1Vpp signals).
•
Incremental pulses/revolution signals:
less than 16384 PPRs.
•
Type of encoder
: single revolution absolute rotary.
Assigning connector PINs:
