Section 8 Service Procedures Unique to Electronic Control Model Dryers
To reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, explosion, serious injury or death:
• Disconnect electric power to the dryer(s) before servicing.
• Close gas shut-off valve to gas dryer(s) before servicing.
• Never start the dryer(s) with any guards/panels removed.
• Whenever ground wires are removed during servicing, these ground wires must be
reconnected to ensure that the dryer is properly grounded.

83. SYMPTOM: HEATER DOES NOT TURN ON OR NO HEAT
Are you in a NO HEAT cycle?
NO
YES
Normal operation.
Remove control hood and verify
that voltage is being applied to
control between terminals “COM”
on heat relay K2 and “P3” (neutral).
Approximately 120 Volts between
“COM” and “P3”?
YES
NO
Check for broken, loose or
incorrect wiring.
Unplug power cord. Disconnect
wire from terminal “P5” on control.
This will simulate a call for heat.
Disconnect wire from terminal
“P1” to eliminate any feedback
through heater circuit on electric
dryers.
Plug in power cord. Press
REGULAR and GO and place meter
between terminals “N.O.” on heat
relay K2 and “P3” (neutral).
Approximately 120 Volts between
“N.O.” (door) and “P3” in five
seconds?
YES
NO
Replace control.
Verify that orange wire is
connected to terminal “N.O.” on
heat relay K2.
Check motor switch, limit
thermostat, exhaust, heater
assembly or gas valve.
