Section 8 Service Procedures Unique to Electronic Control Model Dryers
To reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, explosion, serious injury or death:
• Disconnect electric power to the dryer(s) before servicing.
• Close gas shut-off valve to gas dryer(s) before servicing.
• Never start the dryer(s) with any guards/panels removed.
• Whenever ground wires are removed during servicing, these ground wires must be
reconnected to ensure that the dryer is properly grounded.

82. SYMPTOM: CONTROL WAKES UP (When SELECT Pad is Pressed) BUT MOTOR DOES NOT
START PROPERLY
After door was opened, motor
starts when door is closed without
pressing GO?
NO
YES
Check outlet for proper polarity
and grounding. Refer to Figure 57.
With door closed, motor does not
start after GO is pressed?
YES
YES
Check outlet for proper polarity
and grounding. Refer to Figure 57.
Recheck from beginning. If
problem persists, replace control.
Polarity and grounding okay?

Remove control hood and see if
grey wire from door switch is
connected to terminal “P2” (door).

Approximately 120 Volts between
terminals “P2” (door) and “P3”
(neutral) when door is closed and
“0” Volts when door is open?
Inspect wiring
from control to
door switch, and
door switch.
NO
With door closed, press
REGULAR and GO to check
motor relay K1.
YES
Did you hear relay click and do you
read approximately 120 Volts
between terminals “P1” (fan) and
“P3” (neutral)?
Replace control.
NO
Check motor overload protector,
motor and motor switch.
