VENTURI MOTIVE PRESSURE
The motive pressure for the venturi is stamped on the base on the Venturi
housing. This pressure is a starting point for adjustment. This pressure is
adjusted using the vapor pressure regulators on each venturi train. Final
adjustments should be made with the system in operation, using the pressure
gauge on each venturi to adjust the motive pressure per
Data Sheet.
Venturi Motive Pressure Adjustment
ADJUSTING THE HEATING VALUE OF THE MIXED GAS
NOTE
The heating value adjustment procedure must be done on initial
start-up to assure proper mixed gas heating value.
The adjustment should be done with the system in operation using
a calorimeter or a specific gravity meter. While adjusting the motive
pressure and monitoring the gas quality of the gas until gas quality
is appropriate.
Must be a NON-CRITICAL load, preferably a flarestack.
See Data Sheet for Motive Pressure setpoint.
The sequencer has a progressive control system that selects a different venturi
every time a venturi operates. A venturi must operate continually so it can be
adjusted. The progressive sequencing of venturis must be stopped by entering the
SETUP MODE
to adjust the heating value of each venturi. In the
SETUP MODE
, all
venturi solenoids operate simultaneously between the mixed gas pressure setpoint
and the deadband. There are two methods to place the controller into
SETUP
MODE
.
1. The first is to press both the
START
and
STOP
buttons simultaneously.
2. The second is by jumping orange terminal B3 to terminal 4 in the control
box.
Follow this procedure to enable continuous operation of each venturi for
adjustment.
ADJUSTING THE HEATING VALUE OF THE MIXED GAS WITH INDIVIDUAL REGULATORS
CAUTION
Shut off the power at the disconnect before installing the jumper
between orange terminal B3 to terminal 4, (24VDC)
1. Close all venturi isolation valves.
2. Jumper orange terminal B3 to terminal 4 then press the
START
switch;
or press the
START
and
STOP
buttons simultaneously.
3. Open the isolation valve of the venturi to be adjusted. The mixed gas
pressure should increase to the setpoint and the venturis will shut off.
