d) If the Check Valve (M) does not contact the Seating Surface (F) as described above,
reposition the Clevis (I) in the Venturi Housing (D).
At least three threads must be exposed for proper installation of the Acorn Nut (G).
5. Place Sealing Washer (H) onto Clevis (I). Tighten the Acorn Nut (G) onto the Clevis (I) outside the Venturi
Housing (D), making sure that when the nut is tight, the Check Valve (M) is centered. Do not use any tools on
the clevis inside the housing, or on the arm or valve. It may be helpful to start with the valve offset to the side
and allow it to rotate to its centered position while tightening the acorn nut.
6. Tighten the Lock Nut (J) on the clevis/arm Pivot Screw (L) until the arm is tight in the Clevis (I). Then slowly
loosen the lock nut just until the arm can swing freely. Check that the Check Valve (M) is centered and clears
the Venturi Housing (D) on both sides.
7. Install the Housing Lid (B), using a new Gasket (G). Apply white lithium grease to gasket and threads. Install
Allen head screws and tighten, alternating side to side.
8. Reinstall pressure gauge assembly and reconnect 3/4” union and tighten
(
See removal instructions 6 and 7
).
9. Apply pressure to the unit and check for leaks as detailed in “Leak Check Procedure for Venturi Check
Valves” (following these instructions). Initially a small leak may occur around the check valve, but after a few
cycles the leak should correct itself. If it persists, remove the lid and re-check the seating surfaces and the
alignment.
