REPLACING THE RELAYS
Turn off power at the disconnect.
Remove bus bar jumpers, use a screwdriver on the din rail clamp to remove
the relay.
Insert a new relay and re-install bus bar jumpers.
CORROSION INHIBITOR TAPE
A small synthetic sponge-tape is mounted on the inside top of the explosion proof
box to prevent corrosion and absorb moisture. The sponge-tape contains a
special chemical combination that vaporizes and condenses on all surfaces
inside the control box. The vapors given off by the tape protect all interior
components. Replace it if any deterioration is observed. If the sponge-tape is
moldy the heater may not be working correctly.
CONTROL BOX HEATER
The control box is equipped with a heater to prevent condensation and to ensure
that all the electrical components operate within their allowed temperature range.
The heater is mounted on the back side of the control panel and is not visible.
The heater is controlled by two thermostats. One thermostat (#1) is mounted on
the stop switch and the second thermostat (#2) is mounted directly on the control
panel. The heater can be checked by jumping across the thermostats if the
ambient temperature is above their settings.
All equipment with enclosure heater
requires power to be on continuously.
TESTING THE CONTROL BOX HEATER
If the heater is not on due to the ambient temperature being higher than the
thermostat settings, the heater can be checked by the following procedure:
1. Turn off the control box power at the disconnect.
2. Remove the explosion proof control box cover.
3. Jumper the thermostat terminals on each thermostat.
4. Turn on the power at the disconnect.
5. Monitor the control panel temperature to determine if it is heating up.
CAUTION
CONTROL PANEL WILL GET HOT!
6. Turn off the control box power at the disconnect.
7. Remove the thermostat jumpers.
8. Replace the control box explosion proof cover.
NOTE
After making the necessary exchanges turn on the power and check
and adjust the output pressure if necessary before resuming
system operation.
