HELO Plus H.264 Streaming and Recording Encoder v1.0 29 www.aja.com
Slices Per Frame
Selects the number of encoding slices per frame. Options are:
• 1 - (factory default)
• 2
• 4
• 8
If Slices Per Frame is greater than one, video will be encoded in a way that allows
parallelized decoding. If the decoder is sufficiently powerful, it can decode 2, 4, or
8 sections of the frame simultaneously.
Entropy Coding
Selects the algorithm used for entropy encoding.
CABAC -
Context Based Adaptive Binary Arithmetic Coding (factory default).
CAVLC -
Context Adaptive Variable Length Coding. CAVLC is generally easier
to decode, but can offer reduced image quality. CAVLC is always used when
Constrained or Baseline H.264 Encoding Profiles are selected.
Display Aspect Ratio
Selects whether the input video should be coded for playback on a display device
with a specific aspect ratio.
Auto -
(factory default)
4:3
16:9
17:9
Stream 1, 2 Output Screens
HELO Plus supports two simultaneous streaming outputs. Each streaming output
(1 and 2) can be independently configured with different streaming settings.
In addition, each stream output can receive its input from either Encoder 1 or
Encoder 2. This provides for a wide variety of applications.
