Section 3 — Wings

 

 

41)  Utilizing a hot knife or fresh #11 blade, carefully cut and remove the covering exposing the servo pocket located on the under-

side of each wing panel. 

 

42)  Carefully locate and cut the aileron control horn slots on the underside of each aileron.  Shine a flashlight through the opposite 

side if you have trouble locating the slot. Be sure not to cut through to the top side! 

43)  Test fit the horns in the slots. The fit should be snug. If it feels like the bottom corners are digging into the wood, you may want 

to round the corners.  

44)  As before, slide the base on and trace around it. Lightly cut inside the line to remove the covering. 

45)  Slightly roughen the surface of the horns and the base that will be glued into the aileron on both sides with sandpaper to as-

sure good adhesion.   

46)  Apply epoxy to the control horns on both sides as well as inside the slots in the aileron, and then insert the horns in the slots
