Chapter 2: Installation
2.1 INSPECTING FOR FREIGHT DAMAGES
Your unit was carefully packed in a container which complies with the National Safe Transit Test. This means that the packaged product,
with normal handling, will withstand the load conditions encountered in normal transit and in handling. Your unit should be inspected
immediately after unpacking to determine if any damage is present due to shipping or handling. If any damage is discovered,
do not
install the unit.
Notify the transportation company immediately and file a damage claim.
The manufacturer can bear no responsibility for damages which occur in transit or for improper operation of the unit as a result of shipping
damages.
For future reference, you should record the following information from the units.

2.2 INSTALLATION, "S" SERIES UNITS
WARNING
Installation of this appliance must be made in accordance with the written instructions provided in this manual.
No agent, representative or employee of Suburban or other person has the authority to change, modify or
waive any provision of the instructions contained in this manual.
WARNING
Failure to follow instructions could result in severe personal injury or death due to carbon-monoxide poisoning,
if combustion products infiltrate into the building.
Check that all openings in the outside wall around the vent (and air intake) pipe(s) are sealed to prevent infiltration
of combustion products into the building.
Check that furnace vent (and air intake) terminal(s) are not obstructed in any way during all seasons
Dynapack units are vertical package units featuring gas fired heating with electrical air conditioning. The Dynapack unit has been safety
certified by Intertek Testing Services to comply with the national safety codes of the USA and Canada. The Dynapack S-Series unit is
certified to operate on natural or LP gas.
The Dynapack unit is NOT certified for installation in a mobile home.
Installations in the USA must be in accordance with city, county, or state codes and regulations. If local codes do not apply then the
installation must be made in accordance with the National Fuel Gas Code and the National Electrical Code.
This product is a general purpose heating and cooling product to be installed in a conditioned closet. For hotel guestrooms applications,
sound treatment on the closet walls and doors is required to meet the recommended ASHRAE sound criterion.
Installations made in Canada likewise must be in accordance with city, provincial, or national c
odes or the current version of CANI-B149
Installation Code.
WARNING
In the state of Massachusetts: This product must be installed by a licensed Plumber or Gas Fitter. When
flexible connectors are used, the maximum length shall not exceed 36". When lever-type gas shutoffs are
used, they shall be T-handle type.
The outdoor fan discharge or the condenser air intake cannot be connected to field fabricated ducting. This unit can only be installed
using the factory supplied wall sleeves.
A: LOCATION
IMPORTANT - H SERIES UNITS ONLY
The Dynapack H-Series condensate drain system is designed to be installed in a conditioned space. To prevent
freezing of the drain condensate in the P-Trap, the installation location should not be exposed to freezing
conditions. In installations where the drain system is exposed to freezing conditions, we offer an optional
heated P-Trap which is available for purchase. The part number for the heated P-Trap installation kit is K/10348
and the steps for installation are outlined in Appendix A.
