• ScanX contains a laser and is a Class 1 [Class
1 (IEC 60825)] Laser Product. Use of controls
or adjustments or performance of procedures
other than those specified herein may result in
hazardous radiation exposure. The laser is on
only during an active scan.
• Alerts user that Scanx becomes a Class 3B
device when opened. Only a trained tech-
nician from an authorized dealer should
remove a cover from the ScanX. Direct eye
contact with the output beam from the laser
may cause serious damage and possible
blindness.

• The power line cord is the main power discon-
nect device.
• Use only the line cord provided with the unit.
• To avoid risk of electric shock, fire, short-circuit
or dangerous emissions, never insert any metallic
object into the equipment.
• Only use connection cable(s) delivered with the

• Check the device cables for possible damage
before switching on. Damaged cables, plugs and
sockets must be replaced before use.
• Never touch open supply outlets.

The signal word differentiates between four levels of danger:
DANGER:
Indicates immediate danger of severe injury or death.
WARNING:
Indicates possible danger of severe injury or death.
CAUTION:
Indicates risk of minor injuries.
NOTICE:
Indicates information is considered important, but not hazard-related (e.g. messages
relating to risk of extensive material/property damage). The safety alert symbol shall not be used with
this signal word. When a signal word is used for messages relating to property damage, NOTICE is the
choice of signal word.
