Procedure for tilting down (manual tilt models)
1. Place the tilt lock lever in the lock position.
2. Slightly tilt the engine up until the tilt support bar is automatically released.
3. Slowly tilt the engine down.
Shallow water

Run the boat at the lowest possible speed when using the shallow water cruising
system. The tilt lock mechanism does not work while the shallow water cruising
system is being used. Hitting an underwater obstacle could cause the outboard
motor to lift out of the water,resulting in loss of control.

Use extra care when operating in reverse. Too much reverse thrust can cause the
outboard motor to lift out of the water. Increasing the chance of accident and
personal injury.
NOTICE
：
Do not tilt the outboard motor up so that the cooling water inlet on the lower unit is
above the surface of the water when setting up for and cruising in shallow water.
Otherwise severe damage from overheating can result.
