CT Logic (Critical Temperature Logic)
CT Logic is one of two modes the Presto Detacher Control can be put into to sense milk
temperature. If switched to “YES”, CT Logic provides a means of establishing a normal milk
temperature in the herd by averaging a set number of milk temperatures. The number of milk
temperatures averaged is set-up in the next screens. A deviation number is established in the next
set-up screens as well. If CT Logic is switched to “NO” then the Presto Control in the next screen ,
will ask for a fixed alarm temperature.
Only when CT Logic is switched to “YES” - CT Logic Average
CT Logic Average is the number of valid milk temperature peak recordings averaged to establish a
normal milk temperature.
Only when CT Logic is switched to “YES” – CT Logic Deviation
The CT Logic Deviation is the amount that the milk temperature must exceed the average or normal
milk temperature to trigger a high temperature alarm.
Only when CT Logic is switched to “NO” Milk Alarm Temperature
The Alarm Temperature setting allows the operator to select the temperature to indicate an alarm
condition. Standard milk temperature is 102.0 F (39.1 C). Setting the alarm temperature above 102.5 F
(39.2C) is recommended under standard conditions. Remember to calibrate the milk temperature
according to the Calibrate Milk Temperature Offset. (See Set-up Table)
Temperature Offset
Milk Temperature Offset allows for temperature calibration to a known temperature.
Invert Shutoff and Invert Cylinder
These settings are used to match the Presto Control output signals to the type of vacuum shifting
valve to be used. Electrical out puts from the to the vacuum shutoff and cylinder valves can be
programmed to match normally open or normally closed shifting valves by choosing either YES/NO.
With the Presto in the Detached Mode the following table shows the respective outputs
PWM (Pulsed Width Modulation)
The power modulation feature can be turned on (yes) or off (no). This feature when turned on (yes)
makes the Presto Control apply full power to the shifting valve for about 400 milliseconds and then it
drops to ½ power. This saves power plus reduces the stress on the shifting valves.
