3.1.2.2.
Disc-O-Sem settings for firm ground
Tractor 3-point hitch in floating position with no position control
Adjusting the working depth of the 1st row of disks:
Alter the length of the tractor's top link. By shortening the top link, the depth of the first row of disks
increases.
Caution
,
the working depth visible when stopped is often less than when the machine is moving. At
speed, the pressure of the machine on the top link and the percussion effect of the 3D safety system
increases the working depth. You should therefore check the working depth by examining the profile of
the topsoil in an area worked at speed and not at the edge of the field.
o
Adjusting the working depth of the 2nd row of disks:
The second row of disks is controlled by the rear roller with the help of the multi-stops.
3.1.2.3.
Disc-O-Sem settings for soft ground
On soft ground, the pressure of the Disc-O-Sem on the tractor's top link can render the machine
unstable. You should therefore modify the settings of the machine.
Disconnect the tractor's top link from the Disc-O-Sem. You must then
adjust the working depth of
the 1st row of disks accurately using the tractor's 3-point hitch position control.
When the
desired working position at high speed is achieved, stop the tractor and reconnect the tractor's top link
to the Disc-O-Sem in floating position. The coupling pin must be in the centre of the elongated hole
If the machine is still unstable,
lateral stabilising wheels
must be fitted. These wheels will prevent
the machine from rocking from left to right and going into vertical resonance. These are stabilising
wheels and not position control wheels. They must be adjusted to approximately 2cm above the
ground.
