.3 BREAK-IN
Although there are no operational restrictions on
the Collector when it is used for the first time, it is
recommended that the following mechanical items
be checked:
A.
After operating for hour:
1. Check alignment of pulleys and sprockets.
Align as required.
2. Check belt and chain tension. Adjust as
required.
3. Torque all fasteners and hardware.
4. Check condition of blower, chopper and
brush bearings.
5. Check the pick-up head brush and chop-
per for entangled material. Remove any
entangled material.
6. Check tire pressure. Inflate as required.
B.
After operating for 0 hours:
1. Repeat steps 1 through 6 listed above.
(Section A).
2. Change engine oil.
3. Go to the normal servicing and mainte-
nance schedule as defined in the Mainte
-
nance Section.
. PRE-OPERATION CHECKLIST
Efficient and safe operation of the AgriMetal Leaf
and Debris Collector requires that each operator
reads and understands the operating procedures
and all related safety precautions outlined in this
section. A pre-operation checklist is provided
for the operator. It is important for both personal
safety and for maintaining the machine in good
mechanical condition that this checklist be fol-
lowed.
Before operating the Collector and each time
thereafter, the following areas should be checked
off:
1. Lubricate the machine per the schedule out-
line in the Maintenance Section.
2. Check the tension and alignment of all belts
and pulleys. Adjust tension and align as re-
quired.
3. Check the pick-up head brush and chopper.
Remove any twine, wire or other material that
has become entangled.
4. Check that all bearings turn freely. Replace
any that are rough or seized.
5. Make sure that all guards and shields are in
place, secured and functioning as designed.
