The chopper blades must be checked and
maintained in a good condition at all times to
obtain the expected life and performance.
To maintain the chopper, follow this procedure:
To check the tension and alignment, follow this
procedure:
1. Clear the area of bystanders, especially
small children.
2. Place all controls in neutral, stop engine,
set park brake, remove ignition key and
wait for all moving parts to stop before
dismounting.
3. Remove the cover and inspect the chopper
4. Remove any entangled material.
5. Check for bent or broken blades. Straight-
en bent blades and replace broken ones.
6. Remove the rotor from the machine:
a. Remove guard over drive system.
b. Move idler pulley to its loosest posi-
tion..
c. Disconnect chain coupler.
d. Remove drive belt.
e. Loosen rotor shaft bearing flanges and
remove rotor.
7. Loosen and remove blade anchor bolts.
8. Straighten bent blades and replace broken
blades.
9. Re-assemble and tighten fasteners to their
specified torque.
10. Re-assemble rotor into machine.
11. Re-assemble drive system and install the
guard.
