c. Use the hitch clevis
to set the height of
brush or flails above
the ground. Generally
a height of 3/8 to 5/8
inches (9 to 15 mm)
gives the best results.
Raise the frame if the
grass is being scalped.
d. Use the flail for picking
up loose leaves and
other loose material.
Use the brush to dis-
lodge any compacted
or matted material.
e. Do not unhook a load-
ed machine to prevent
upending.
f. Watch the flow of mate
-
rial past the windows
on the pick-up to de-
termine the best travel
speed. Material should
always be moving past
the windows. When it
stops moving, the com-
partment is full or the
machine is plugging.
