Reading and Writing DPCD registers
The procedures below describe how to read and write to a DCPD from a sink device under test connected to the
W2642A. You may configure the W2642A with a valid DPCD when testing a DisplayPort source device.
To read a DPCD register:
1. Select
the
DPCD
tab on the W2642A GUI.
2. Click on the
Read from DP
activation button.
The DPCD appears in the DPCD data matrix. There is a scroll bar on the right that enables you to view the
segments of the DPCD.
3. If you wish to read a specific DPCD register, use the
DPCD IO
section on the right of the
DPCD
tab. Enter
the Address and Length then click on the
Read
activation button to initiate the read.
4. You can also read specific DCPD segments by selecting the
Hardware
tab and then selecting
DPCD
for the
IO Group
. You then populate values in the Address and Length fields then click on the
Read
activation
button.
To write to a DPCD register:
1. Select
the
DPCD
tab on the W2642A.
2. Load a DPCD from a file stored on the host PC by clicking on the
Load from File
activation button.
