If the configuration is set for stand-alone and the unit address is greater than
zero, the system generates the error shown in
Figure 7
.

If no error message is generated, then proceed to the next step. If an error mes-
sage is displayed, re-check the “scnr.cfg” file for the correct setup.

Verify BCR operation and alignment.
Position the scanner head towards
the standard barcode label. Power on the ADP unit if not already powered
on. From the Dos command prompt, type “alignbcr –a”. The bar code
reader will automatically start reading the bar code label and displaying the
value it read on the screen. Distance between the reader and the barcode
will affect success. Two inches is a good starting point. See
Figure 8
.
