If multiple scanners
are to be installed, connect the cable to the next
BCR/ADP-232 unit and repeat step's 1 through 6 except type “cfgscnr 2” at
the Dos prompt for the second scanner.

Connect the RS-485 cable
(8120-6957) to the T-Connector. Connect the
T-connector/Lan cable (8120-6956) to the Multidrop concentrator.

Power on the Multidrop concentrator.
Reset the multidrop concentrator.
At the “HOST” connector on the multidrop concentrator, use the piece of
bus wire and jumper pin 7 to pin 11 on the concentrator. A series of beeps
should be heard. Disconnect one end of the jumper and then quickly
reconnect the jumper, a single long higher pitched beep should be heard.
This long beep confirms the unit has been reset. If the long beep is not
generated reconnect the jumper and repeat the procedure.

Connect
the
CPU Interface cable (E7200-61709)
from the Com Port 3
(Port 1 on Series 3) on the 5DX to the Concentrator HOST connector.

Change directories to the Calib directory. Edit “cnctr.cfg”. Locate the last
line in the file and verify the number of scanners is correct. Save and exit
the file.

Edit ‘bcrinit.cfg”. Locate the line that reads; stand-alone =0, multidrop=1.
Edit the next line down to read “Configuration=1”. See
Figure 22
. Save and
exit the file.
