Chapter 4: Maintenance
DANGER
: To decrease the risk of electrical shock, injury, death, and damage to the
equipment, obey the precautions that follow.
l
All service and maintenance must be done by approved personnel.
l
Before you do maintenance to the equipment, disconnect the electrical power.
l
Before you connect wires to this product, disconnect the electrical power.
l
Restrict access to the AGV3D when it is connected to a power source.
WARNING
: Keep the scan head free of foreign matter and moisture to prevent a reduction
in its performance and life expectancy.
The AGV3D scan head is designed to be resistant to dust. The scan head does not require any
maintenance other than that it should be cleaned periodically.
Operation in dirty or dusty environments could require you to periodically replace the entrance and exit
aperture protective windows. Contact the factory for replacement parts.
IMPORTANT
: Do not remove any components from the system other than those
specified in the Maintenance section of the manual. The internal optical components are
precisely aligned at the factory in a clean environment to achieve high performance.
Removal of any components will significantly compromise performance and could require
you to send the scan head back to the factory for calibration.
4.1. Service and Inspection Schedule
Until you can find the correct inspection interval for your system, set the interval for once a month. Use
the system application(s) and conditions (duty cycle, speed, and environment) to define the inspection
interval.
Monthly inspections should include but not be limited to:
l
Visually inspect the galvo, components, and cables.
l
Re-tighten loose connectors.
l
Replace or repair damaged cables.
l
Clean the AGV3D and any components and cables as needed.
l
Repair any damage before you operate the AGV3D.
l
Inspect and perform an operational check on all safeguards and protective devices.
It is usually not possible for Aerotech field service personnel to do repairs and/or replace components.
Contact Aerotech Global Technical Support for more information and to determine if the AGV3D should
be sent back to the factory for maintenance.
