1.1 Product Description
Adept Cobra s800 Inverted Robots
Adept Cobra s800 Inverted robots are four-axis SCARA robots (Selective Compliance
Assembly Robot Arm). See
Figure 1-1
. Joints 1, 2, and 4 are rotational; Joint 3 is
translational. See
Figure 1-2 on page 16
for a description of the robot joint locations.
The Adept Cobra s800 Inverted robots require an Adept SmartController. The robots are
programmed and controlled using the SmartController, running on the Adept
SmartServo distributed motion control platform. Mechanical specifications for the Adept
Cobra s800 Inverted robots are provided in
Chapter 9
.
