2.3.3 Inspection zone
The operator responsible for the scanning should be provided with the necessary means
to visually monitor the inspection zone, which is enclosed by a virtual or real wall.
The edges of the inspection zone around the System must be marked, and no unauthor-
ized personnel will be allowed to access it during equipment operation. In addition, it is neces-
sary to determine the size of the sanitary protection zone in order to ensure the equivalent level
of an ambivalent dose of no more than 1 mSv per year. Additional measurements and calcula-
tions must be performed according to ANSI/HPS No. 43.17-2009 and regulatory documents of
the customer country.
If necessary, additional means, such as lead glass, can be used.
Identification of the Inspection zone around the system where the ambient dose equiva-
lent is greater than 20 µSv in 1 hour of operation at the maximum throughput of 180 inspections
per hour and the maximum operation conditions:
