– Label Detail Wt Holes Screen
9.2.3.1.
If you selected to label detail weights in the Job in paragraph 9.1.1.10 above, the
“Label Detail Wt Holes” screen will appear. Complete as shown in paragraph 9.1.6
above.
9.2.4.
– Transient Balance Equipment Setup Screen
9.2.4.1.
The Transient Balance Equipment Setup banner screen, shown below, will be
displayed. Install the speed sensor, vibration sensor, and cables as indicated. Near
the center of the screen, the information message “Tach power is On” will be
displayed. This indicates that power to the optical tachometer is currently available to
check alignment with the reflective target. You can press [F1] “Tach Pwr” to cycle
power on the optical tach. Before starting the engine, make sure all previously
installed trim balance weights have been removed. On some engines, there may be
detail or factory-installed weights, which must not be removed. Optionally, the
existing trim balance weights can remain installed prior to Run 1. However, the
location and type of the balance weight(s) will need to be annotated in the analyzer as
described in step 9.2.5.8 below. Check the LMM prior to removing weights if you are
not familiar with this engine and the balancing procedures. When all installations and
connections are made, and tachometer checks completed as necessary, press [OK] to
accept settings and exit this screen.
NOTE
The option to turn tach power on or off using the [F1] function key is for optical tachometer
alignment only and will not affect the tachometer’s operational condition. Regardless of
selection, once this screen is exited power WILL be supplied to an Optical Tachometer.
