1.0 INTRODUCTION
This document is related to a 15" CRT color monitor MM500 to be used with various kinds of graphic
adapters, including IBMVGA, VESAVGA, ERGOVGA, SVGA, UVGA and XGA modes. It is intended as a
mutisync monitor type based on microprocessor unit, capable to support all the video standards. This
monitor, simply adjusting image size and centering by means of the user controls gathered on the front
panel, can support other graphic standards. The monitor is used with 30KHZ to 54KHZ frequency in
horizontal sweep while vertical refresh rate is from 50HZ to 120HZ.
Moreover it offers Power Management and DDC1 and DDC2B features according to VESA
recommendations.
2.0 INSTALLATION
Check the monitor adapter connector in your personal computer system and compare the specifications
with those of the monitor. If in doubt, contact your supplier. Be sure that power for both the personal
computer system and the monitor is switched off; better not even plugged in.
2.1 PROCEDURE:
a. Connect the video cable to the 15-pin female connector of the video adapter at the rear of the
personal computer system. Lock both screws to ensure proper connection.
b. The voltage regulation of the monitor is indicated on the marker plate at the back. Compare this with
the power supply at location.
c. The monitor is equipped with a three-wire power cord and a third-pin earth plug. Make sure that the
power outlet is an earth type as well.
d. Connect the power cord with the AC- plug at the back of the monitor. Because of its relatively high
power consumption, the power cord of the color-monitor is either to be plugged directly into a
wall-mounted AC-outlet or to be plugged into the PC power supply.
e. Turn on the power switches of both the personal computer and the monitor. Visually verify the
presence of power by checking the “power-on” indicator. It will take about 30 seconds to warm up
monitor.
f. Put a data pattern on the screen and adjusts brightness and contrast to a level comfortable to your
eyes.
