2.7.4 VNC
Use Virtual Network Computing (in short VNC) to administer Windows CE devices in LAN or WLAN from a
remote PC.
The requirement is that the VNC server installed on the devices has been started.
This can be done by integrating the startup into the STARTUP configuration (see also Chapter 1.4.3).
Then launch a suitable VNC client on the PC
and connect to the device.
ACD recommends TightVNC (V 1.2.x) or UltraVNC.
The device can be conveniently
administered from the PC.
2.7.4.1 The VNC server
The free Efon VNC server is operated on the MDT devices from the second edition.
Visible on the relevant icon in the taskbar:
Double-tap the icon to open the Efon configuration dialogue box. Among other functions, the remote access
password can be changed here.
For security reasons, the default password is not specified here.
Administrators will be notified of the password on request.
