1 Identification
The air-cooled welding torch system
ABIMIG
®
SpinArc
®
is used for metal arc welding, and can be
operated in mechanical and automated welding torch systems. The welding torch system is suitable for all
power sources and all wire feeders. These operating instructions only describe the welding torch system. The
welding torch system must only be operated with original
ABICOR BINZEL
spare parts.
1.1 CE marking
This device fulfils the requirements of the valid EU directives.
2 Safety
The attached safety instructions must be observed.
2.1 Designated use
• The device described in these instructions may be used only for the purpose and in the manner
described in these instructions. In doing so, observe the operating, maintenance and servicing
conditions.
• Any other use is considered improper.
• Unauthorised conversions or modifications are not allowed.
2.2 Obligations of the operator
• Store the operating instructions within easy reach of the device for reference and enclose them when
passing on the product.
• Commissioning, operating and maintenance work may only be carried out by qualified personnel.
Qualified personnel are people who, based on their special training, knowledge and experience, are
able to assess the tasks assigned to them and identify possible dangers
(in Germany, see TRBS 1203 [Technical Rules for Operating Safety]).
• Keep unauthorized persons out of the work area.
• Please observe the occupational health and safety regulations of the relevant country.
• Ensure the work area is well lit and keep it clean.
• Occupational health and safety regulations of the relevant country. For example, in Germany: Observe
the Arbeitsschutzgesetz (Occupational Health and Safety Act) and Betriebssicherheitsverordnung
(Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health).
• Observe the regulations on occupational safety and accident prevention.
2.3 Personal protective equipment (PPE)
To avoid danger to the user, these instructions recommend the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• This consists of protective clothing, safety goggles, a class P3 respiratory mask, protective gloves and
safety shoes.
The conformity is confirmed by the CE marking on the device.
