Calibration
The Calibration mode enables the user to calibrate, check, and zero the static and differential
pressure. Additionally, this mode allows the user to calibrate or set the bias for the resistance
temperature detector (RTD). During the initial calibration, the parameters in the following table will
need to be configured.

The following test equipment is required to calibrate the XSeries
G5
XIMV:
PCCU32, version 7.65 or newer
Deadweight tester or equivalent calibration standard
Test gauge capable of dual range measurement (PSIG and inches)
Barometer or another means which can determine barometric pressure
Nitrogen or compressed air source
IMPORTANT NOTE:
ABB Totalflow recommends performing a five-point calibration check
before (as found) and after (as left) calibration. During normal operation, either cell could
be knocked out of calibration (typically due to a slug of liquid).
WinCCU, the host software, can recalculate the volume based on the differences between
the previous five-point check and the current five-point check. After a secure audit trail is
archived, WinCCU recalculates the flow volume based on the previous and current markers.
This allows more accurate results of the flow volume.
11.1.1
Static pressure checks
The flow computer supports SP calibration pressure checks and logs the pressure marker check
points. Perform this check prior to and directly following the calibration.
During normal operation of the flow computer, the display provides continuous SP readouts. However,
during this procedure the flow computer is placed in a temporary hold mode.
A minimum of three (3) SP markers should be set; however, as many SP markers as needed may be
entered. For a three (3) point check, enter a low, mid, and high value. For a five (5) point check,
enter 5 values.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Recording too many markers could cause the flow computer to
overwrite existing, older events. Only the last five checks are used by the WINCCU editor for
calibration adjustment.
Refer to API 21.1 and company procedures for additional guidance on performing pressure checks.
WARNING
–
Property damage, bodily injury:
During this procedure, both sides of the
cell will be pressurized by closing both the high and low side orifice valves, opening the
vent to atmosphere, closing the atmosphere vent, and then opening both the high and low
bypass valves. The resulting comparison pressure must not be greater than the maximum
pressure rating of the static pressure cell.
Select

on the tool bar to place the flow computer in Hold mode.
Select the measurement tube in the navigation tree.
