All work on the REB500 busbar protection system must be carefully planned.
Errors when manipulating the system cannot only destroy components, they
can also cause false tripping and serious interruption to the power supply.
Precautions must be taken in the immediate area when working on the central
unit or one of the bay units to exclude any possibility of persons coming into
contact with live parts.
A danger of electrical shock also exists when measuring currents and voltages.
When replacing electronic modules, take the necessary precautions to prevent
damage to components due to electrostatic discharge (ESD).

Useful LEDs on the IEDs and switches

Switches

The Fault and Power (P) LED of the Switch are found on the left side of the switch. The green
link LED for optical and electrical connection is located on the electrical connector. The same
LEDs are also available on the back side of the switch.

The Ready LED is on the top of the BU/CU. The Alarm Indicator LED is located in the right lower
corner of the IED, integrated within the alarm button (see
