Current Consumption
The indicator (9) fig. 60 allows the
driver to monitor the instantaneous fuel
consumption in order to drive more
efficiently, also from the point of view of
harmful emissions.
The instantaneous fuel consumption is
shown in l/100 km or mpg (depending
on the chosen display).
A more “fluid” drive, will allow the
fuel consumption and emissions
to be reduced, even though the
traffic conditions often will not allow
it. A more "aggressive" drive, on
the other hand, implies frequent
acceleration/deceleration with resulting
increased fuel consumption and
harmful emissions.
GEAR SHIFT INDICATOR
The GSI (Gear Shift Indicator) system
advises the driver to change gear
through a special indication on the
display.
Through the GSI, the driver is informed
that shifting gear will allow a reduction
in fuel consumption.
When the SHIFT (SHIFT UP) icon
is shown on the display, the GSI is
advising the driver to engage a higher
gear, while the SHIFT (SHIFT DOWN)
icon advises the driver to engage a
lower gear.
The indication on the instrument panel
remains until the driver shifts gear
or the driving conditions return to a
situation where gear shifting is not
required to improve consumption.
SPEEDOMETER
Shows the car’s speed in km/h or mph
depending on the display settings.
TACHOMETER
This indicates the engine rpm. The
indicator (5) fig. 61 activates over 3000
rpm and, for two seconds, shows the
maximum engine rpm reached each
time the accelerator is pressed and
then released (“Ghost function”).
DIGITAL FUEL LEVEL
GAUGE
The digital gauge indicates the amount
of fuel in the tank.
The
icon appears to indicate that
approximately 5 litres of fuel are left in
the tank.
Do not travel with the fuel tank almost
empty: any gaps in fuel supply could
damage the catalytic converter.
DIGITAL ENGINE
COOLANT TEMPERATURE
GAUGE
The digital gauge indicates the
temperature of the engine coolant
and starts giving indications when the
coolant temperature exceeds 50
°
C
approx.
The first reference, which is always on,
is blue and indicates a low temperature
of the engine coolant.
When the temperature increases the
reference becomes white and other
references come on as well.
If the references become red the
temperature of the engine coolant is
too high: in this case, see paragraph
"Warning lights and messages" in this
chapter.
The
icon appears (where present)
(on a few versions together with the
displayed message) to indicate an
excessive temperature increase of the
coolant. In this case, stop the engine
and contact an Abarth Dealership.
INSTRUMENT PANEL
LIGHTING ADJUSTMENT
(Brightness sensor)
Versions with colour display are
equipped with a brightness sensor
(fitted inside the instrument panel)
capable of detecting ambient light
conditions and adjusting the brightness
of the instrument panel accordingly.
The behaviour of the instrument is as
follow:
"daytime" mode: the display can be
set to 8 levels;
"night time" mode: the display can
be set to 8 levels. The brightness of
