Aastra OnDemand
Aastra OnDemand is a set of cloud-based hosted or managed services, an optional add-on to the
UC solutions available using the Clearspan Communicator (Audio or Video options
– see below for
details), XMPP and Web Collaboration. A subscription to the OnDemand service is required to
deliver the following capabilities as part of the complete solution:
Instant Messaging and Presence (IM&P)
Desktop sharing
Full Web Collaboration capabilities
With the IM&P service, the Clearspan Communicator allows a user to build a list of frequent
contacts called buddies. When users want to communicate with one of their buddies, they can
quickly see their availability (presence) and choose a mode of communication (chat, voice, video,
desktop share). The presence status can be viewed from the Clearspan Communicator or in
Microsoft Outlook. Desktop sharing and full Web Collaboration is also delivered from Aastra
OnDemand. Clearspan Communicator uses the Aastra OnDemand Web Collaboration
infrastructure to enable desktop sharing between the Clearspan Communicator users and users
joining sessions via a Web browser.
