11.1 Recoating blade
11.1.1 Cleaning
The recoater blade will need to be cleaned periodically. Remove the recoater blade (see
Recoater Installation and Removal
section in User Guide) and wipe it off using a paper towel soaked with isopropyl alcohol. Be careful not to contaminate the
material in the vat with the isopropyl alcohol. Be sure to wear nitrile gloves when handling the recoater blade. Do not use any
items which may cause physical damage to the recoater blade. Nonmetallic items, such as a wooden tongue depressor or soft
plastic implement, can be used to remove heavy debris. Wipe the recoater blade dry when finished.
11.1.2 Resin Blade vacuum Level Adjustment
Setting and Verifying Resin Blade Level
1. Select Level Material from the Elevator & Recoater menu.
2. Toggle Vacuum to the On position from the Recoater Settings section
3. Select Level Material again.
4. Move the recoater blade to a position where the blade window is easily accessible and observable by toggling the Back icon
from the Recoater section.
5. The below illustration is the ideal resin level displayed in the window. Ideal resin level should be 1/4 to 1/3 the way up into
the sight window.
1. If resin level is too high or too low, move to the following steps.
2. Unlock doors from the UI and open front door. This will cause the vacuum to stop.
3. Located inside right of the printer are the the Coarse and Fine adjustment knobs.
4. Start by turning the Coarse adjustment a quarter turn.
