This handling method ensures that all parts that come into contact with the material during normal operation are a part of the
active vat.
When the Vat is removed from the printer, make sure to lock the wheel brakes to avoid hazard of any uncontrolled
movement.
Nitrile gloves are required to detach the recoater blade, especially if there is any material left on the blade.
SLA Vat Overview
The SLA Vat incorporates smart cartridge technology that contains information about the material that is in the container and
the vat. This information prevents use of the wrong material, incorrect material use, or use of empty or expired containers,
ensuring the material is safe to use. For more information, refer to the section
Front of Vat
Back of Vat
1
Vat Lid: The lid is used when storing an vat offline. It prevents contaminants from getting into the material basin
when the Vat is being stored offline.
2
Vat Basin: The inside of the vat contains the basin where the material used for printing is stored.
3
Temperature digital read out (Left): Displays the defined limit temperature for the material.
4
Temperature digital read out (Right): Displays the actual temperature of the resin in the vat. Temperature readout is
also displayed in the UI.
5
Vat Heater Power Switch: In the On position, the Vat will regulate material temperature. In the Off position,
temperature regulation doesn't occur. This functions in both Standby and Print modes.
6
Serial Connector: The Serial Connection connects the Vat to the printer and reads the material container, and
establishes communication between the heater and the printer.
7
Power Connector: This connector plugs the heater into the Vat allowing the material to heat. When in Print mode, this
is connected to the machine. When in Standby mode, it is connected to the wall.
8
Vat Communication Umbilical: Communicates information from the printer to the vat.
9
Recoater basket: This rest area basket is used to stow the removable recoater when changing Vats. The removable
recoater basket can be removed for transport when installing or removing recoater.
