BASIC TELEPHONE OPERATION
This chapter describes how to use the basic telephone functions available on all VCX

Logging In to Your Telephone
Your administrator assigns an extension (telephone number) and initial password to
your telephone.
After you hear a dial tone and log in to the phone, you can make calls.

You can see the status icon, extension number, date, and time on the Display Panel.
The status icon shows whether you are online:
On a VCX 3503 Telephone:
indicates the offline status and
indicates the
online status.
On VCX telephones other than 3503:
indicates the offline status and
indicates the online status.
Note that your administrator initially determines the format for the date and time display.
You can change this format and time zone location of your telephone through the VCX
User Interface. See
