On your EFW Management Console, select Create NIC Installation from the
Tools menu.
2
After creating the network NIC installation, copy the files to your Netware server.
3
Start Novell’s snApShot (installed with ZENworks,
\\server\sys\public\snapshot\snapshot.exe).
4
Select a custom installation method.
a
Accept the default settings.
b
Choose an application name (for example, EFW).
c

f
Select the drive to which you want the application installed (for example: C:).
g
Click on Next to generate the initial system summary.
5
Minimize snApShot; do not press "Run Application Install Button." It is not needed
for this process.
6
Copy the NIC installation directory (step 2, default=nicinstall) to the client drive
specified in step 4F. You can use a command shell or explorer.
Run "REGEDIT" and, under the registry key listed below, enter the following string:
c:\nicinstall\setup.exe
Hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\runonce
7
Maximize snApShot and click Next until the second image is made.
8
Click on Finish and run Nwadmin32.exe.
9
Select Object -> Create -> Application.
10
Select "Create an application object with an .AOT/.AXT file."
11
Choose a path to your .AOT file (for example, \\server\public\snapshot\efw\efw.aot).
12
Accept the defaults and click Next until you reach Finish. It is not necessary to enter a
target path.
NOTE:
If the client is Windows 2000 or has the Microsoft Installer installed,
you can use the following command that runs a silent installation with no user
input required.
Under the same runonce key: msiexec /QN /I "c:\nicinstall\3Com Embedded
Firewall NIC.msi"
