Opening/Closing the Notification Panel
Notifications report the arrival of new messages, calendar events, and alarms,
as well as ongoing events . You can open the Notification Panel to view the
details of notifications .
• To open the Notification Panel, swipe your finger down from the top of
the screen .
• To close the Notification Panel, swipe your finger up from the bottom of the
screen or press the
Back key
.
Responding to or removing a notification
In the Notification Panel, you can respond to a notification or remove the
notifications . The Notification Panel also supports expandable notifications
that let you perform additional actions right from the notification itself .
• To respond to a notification, tap it .
• Slide down with one finger to expand certain notifications . You can
also swipe two fingers vertically or pinch-zoom to expand or collapse
certain notifications .
• To remove a notification, swipe it left or right .
• To remove all notifications, tap

• To manage notifications you have received, press and hold a notification
to identify the application that created it . You can then tap and enable
Block all
to hide future notifications from some apps, tap
Hide sensitive
content
to hide any sensitive content from some app’s notifications when
the phone is locked, or tap
Treat as priority
to show the app’s notifications
in priority mode, or tap
Allow peeking
to emphasize certain notifications
on the screen .
Note:
If you block notifications for an app, you may miss its important alerts
and updates . The notifications of some apps cannot be blocked .
Using quick settings
The Quick Settings in the Notification Panel make it convenient to view or
change the most common settings for your phone .
Swipe down with two fingers from the top of the screen, or open the
Notification Panel and drag the panel downward to view the following
Quick Settings .

Auto-rotate:
Tap to turn on or off the auto-rotate screen feature .
•
Hotspot:
Tap to turn on or off the mobile hotspot feature . Turning on mobile
hotspot will disable Wi-Fi activity .

Battery Saver:
Tap to turn on or off to reduce performance and background
data . Battery saver turns off automatically when your phone is charging .
•
Sound:
Tap to switch between Vibrate, Silent, and Sound .
•
Airplane mode:
Tap to turn on or off airplane mode .
•
Data:
Tap to enable or disable data access over the mobile network .
•
Sync:
Tap to turn on or off auto-sync of accounts data .
•
Do not disturb:
Tap to turn on or off the Do Not Disturb feature .
•
Bluetooth:
Tap to turn on or off
Bluetooth
.
•
Wi-Fi:
Tap to turn on or off Wi-Fi .
•
Flashlight:
Tap to turn on or off the flashlight .
•
Location:
Tap to turn on or off the GPS function .
•
Brightness:
Uncheck
AUTO
and drag the brightness slider to adjust the
screen brightness .
Note:
In the Quick Settings screen, tap to change positions of the Quick
Setting icons; tap
to access your profile in Contacts; and tap at the
top to get to the Settings menu . Press and hold some icons to open their
Settings menu .
