Surgical Technique

Spindle Implantation

(cont.)

Tighten in a clockwise direction with the nut driver,
while holding the anti-torque wrench in place until
resistance is felt (this is the initial contact of the nut
with the washers of the spindle).

Continue to slowly turn the nut driver in a clockwise
direction until the compression cap can be manually
released or until an additional one-half turn
(180 degrees) is achieved, then stop turning. The
compression cap should release by hand in a counter-
clockwise motion (Figures 72 and 73).
