Selecting Channels
Individual channels, combinations or
groups of channels can be selected
using the numeric keypad and
associated buttons on the front panel
or external keyboard.
Channels can also be selected (and
deselected) by left clicking the channel
number in the CDW.
The ASSOCIATED CHANNEL button
can be used to deselect a selected
channel and select its associated
channel.
The currently selected channels are
displayed on a red background in the
CDW.
Deselecting Channels
The EXCEPT key can be used to
deselect a single channel.
EXCEPT 7
The EXCEPT and THRU keys can be
used to deselect a range of channels.
EXCEPT 7 THRU 10
Pressing the CLEAR key on the front
panel will deselect all currently
selected channels.
Setting Channel Levels
There are several methods which can
be used to set channel levels.
•
The numeric keypad and associated
buttons on the front panel.
•
The numeric keys and associated
keys on the external keyboard.
•
The control wheel on the front
panel.
•
The mouse in the CDW.
The new channel levels are displayed
in the CDW when the ENTER or ON
key is pressed, the wheel is moved or
the mouse is used to adjust the
level(s).
The new channel levels are output live
on the DMX if the channel data is
being edited live.
If editing blind, the DMX outputs are
not affected.
The following sections give examples
on how to use the various controls to
select the required channel(s) and set
the levels.
The programming of scroller channels
is covered separately later in this
chapter.
All examples in this chapter use the
Double Digit Percentage
format. For
details of entering levels using different
formats, see chapter 11.
Setting a Single Channel
1 @ 50 ENTER
sets channel 1 to 50%
The AND Key
The AND key is used to select a
number of channels.
1 AND 3 AND 5 @ 50 ENTER
sets channels 1, 3 and 5 to 50%
The THRU Key
The THRU key is used to select a
range of continuous channels. The
channel ranges can be specified in
either direction.
1 THRU 6 @ 50 ENTER
sets channels 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 to 50%
11 THRU 8 @ 75 ENTER
sets channels 8,9,10 and 11 to 75%
The EXCEPT Key
The EXCEPT key is used to remove a
selected channel.
1 THRU 6 EXCEPT 4 @ 0 ENTER
sets channels 1,2,3,5 and 6 to 0%
