SECTION 5: In-field sanitisation
13. Turn ON the mains water supply. Check for and repair
any leaks.
Sanitise system
14. Allow the water to fill the cold tank. When the filling cycle
is complete, you should here the solenoid valves close.
15. DO NOT DISPENSE BOILING WATER.
Dispense only
chilled water for 15 seconds, using short pulses to trigger
the solenoids open/shut.
16. Use a chlorine test strip to check that sanitising solution
is flowing out of the tap. The test strip should turn BLUE
to indicate 1.0-1.6 PPM (mg/L).
17. Turn OFF the mains water supply. Wait for 7 minutes.
Pack away sanitising kit
18. Disconnect sanitising kit, dry and pack away
(components may be re-used).
19. Reconnect the supply hose from the HydroTap to the
mains water isolation valve.
20. Remove the filter plug and replace with a new filter
cartridge.
21. Turn ON the mains water supply.
22. Use the LCD to run a filter flush.
Flush system
23. Dispense water from the tap in order to flush out the
chilled water tank.
24. Use new chlorine test strips to test water dispensed
from the tap. Continue dispensing until the test strips
show no colour*, to confirm that the sanitising solution
is completely removed. * In some installations there may
be a high level of chlorine from the mains supply. if this
is the case, the test strip colour should match the mains
supply from another tap close by. The safe chlorine
dioxide level in drinking water is below 0.8 ppm (mg/L)
25. Removing the sanitising connector (this may be re-used)
and re-install the UV-C module.
26. Dispense boiling water to empty the boiling tank.
Sanitisation is complete.
