Configuring a network attached storage device
This section provides information on how a memory device connected to
the network or NAS device (network attached storage) can be configured
for use with the i.Profiler
plus
. These instructions provide requirements and
recommendations for the NAS device. You can use the CZM-NAS device or
an NAS device from your preferred manufacturer, if it fulfills these
requirements (generic NAS device). The NAS device can be connected
directly to the Ethernet connection of the i.Profiler
plus
or to your practice
network (LAN). Both connection options are described in this manual.
After the NAS device has been installed and configured for use with the
i.Profiler
plus
, it will function as a network server and be used primarily for
archiving purposes. The instructions for using a network server therefore also
apply to the NAS device.
WARNING - DANGER OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK
If the NAS device is not supplied with power via an isolating transformer, it
must be set up at least 1.5 m away from the customer so that the customer
is not able to touch the device during the examination with any part of their
body. In addition, the operator may not touch the customer and peripheral
equipment at the same time while carrying out the examination. If this
warning is not observed, the customer and/or the operator may suffer an
electrical shock.
