Insert multi-pin plug of the HBO 103 illuminator
(2-13/
3 ) into socket (2-14/ 2 ) of the HBO 100 W
transformer and secure it with captive coupling
ring.
•
Connect line cable to socket (2-14/ 1 ) of the
HBO 100 W transformer first, then connect it to
the line.
(3) Adjustment of HBO 103
Adjustment of the HBO 103 illuminator described
below is performed in two steps: coarse
adjustment and subsequent fine adjustment. The
latter can be performed with or without adjusting
aid (2-15/
2 ) on the incident-light tube (2-15/ 1 ).
Coarse adjustment:
•
Remove HBO 103 illuminator from the
microscope stand by loosening clamping screw
(2-13/
2 ).
•
Switch on HBO 103 on HBO 100 W transformer
(2-10/
1 ) and allow it to heat to operating
temperature. Make sure not to look into the
light exit opening of the illuminator.
•
Direct light beam against a projection area
(wall) approx. 3 m away.
•
Used knurled knob (2-16/ 6 ) to focus on the
brighter focal spot via collector adjustment.
•
Use adjusting screw (2-16/ 4 ) and SW 3 ball-
headed screwdriver to locate and focus on the
slightly darker, reflected focal spot.
•
Use adjusting screws (2-16/ 1 and 3 ) and SW 3
ball-headed screwdriver to set the height and
side of the brighter focal spot in the same way
as the focal spot image (2-18).
