Emergency Procedures
Emergency Weight Release
If you are diving with a buoyant wet or drysuit, be aware that releasing weights at depth
should only be done if absolutely necessary (for example, if your drysuit has flooded, making
you extremely negative). Without weights, it may be very difficult to control your ascent rate
as you near the surface. Weight release at depth should only be done according to the
standards set by your certification agency.
