1.1 Functions That Ensure Reliable
Measurements
The GM has four basic functions: measurement, recording, display, and storage. In addition,
data can be used in various ways such as system configuration through the standard software
(Hardware Configurator) and data file display (Universal Viewer). This section provides an
overview of each function.

Input
The GM can measure the following types of inputs.
The supported input types vary depending on the module. For details on the various input types,
see section 3.1.1, “Measurement.”

Measurement
The GM samples the input signals at a specified scan interval and performs A/D conversion.
These values become the measured values of each channel.
