Fuel Injection Pump

10. Check the thrust clearance of the fuel injection

pump drive shaft.

11. Connect the boost compensator hose

(Figure 6-60, (1)) to the fuel injection pump.

timing belt. See Timing Belt Installation on

13. Check the injection timing. See Injection Timing

Inspection and Adjustment on page 5-93.

14. Fill the engine fresh water line with engine

coolant.

15. Start the engine and check for fuel leakage.

WARNING! NEVER check for a fuel leak with
your hand.
